5 model home design ideas we love
Showcasing new homes priced from the high $200,000s to the $800,000s, the beautifully decorated model homes in Canyon Falls are filled with creative and inspiring design ideas. Here are five of our favorites.
Stairway to modernity. We love the sleek midcentury modern style staircase in Landon’s model home in Canyon Falls. With its minimalist combination of wood and metal, this staircase sets a contemporary tone for this open design. Throughout this two-story model, crisp white walls and cabinets provide the ideal backdrops for bold pops of color and natural neutrals.
Seamless indoor/outdoor living. The sliding glass doors in Drees Custom Homes’ Grantley model home provide a seamless flow between the covered patio and the open family and kitchen area. Transom windows above the sliding doors let even more light in, and the vaulted cathedral ceiling enhances the open and airy feeling of this all-season indoor/outdoor living area.
Everyday entry. Whether you call them everyday entries, drop zones or family foyers, thoughtfully amenitized entrances from the garage are popular features in today’s new homes. With built-in storage and easy access to the laundry room, they provide a convenient place to drop and store gear near the entry that family members use most, the garage. This backpack rack may be a small detail in M/I Homes’ beautiful Dickinson model home in Canyon Falls, but it’s big on function.
Upstairs fun. Perry’s Design 3197 model home in Canyon Falls has a spacious two-story family room, and this upstairs gameroom offers another place for family fun, next to two of the plan’s four bedrooms. With railings overlooking both the family room and the foyer, this gameroom is open and filled with light. Its spacious footprint is big enough to accommodate both a seating area and game table.
School spirit. Here’s another feature we love from Landon’s model home in Canyon Falls: a colorful gridiron mural depicting Argyle High School's Eagle mascot. This mural shows how easy it is to make a bold and proud design statement with a little paint and creativity. A framed Argyle t-shirt and displays of sports balls round out the theme of this kid’s bedroom.
