How Canyon Falls celebrates the holidays
From the Fallapalooza to the Easter Egg Hunt, Canyon Falls residents come together for fun events all year long. No time of year is more active and joyous than the holiday season, when residents of all ages gather to celebrate community traditions both new and old.
The season kicks off in early November with a holiday sign painting workshop, where residents will learn how to create holiday themed signs to adorn indoor and outdoor spaces.
After that, the final Music at the Barn concert of the year takes place at the Hay Barn, with live music from a talented local band, activities and refreshments.
The biggest holiday event takes place at the Canyon Falls Club on Dec. 1. Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and a reindeer will provide fun photo opportunities, without a trip to the mall. Hot cocoa, cookies and holiday activities round out the family fun.
A few days later, Canyon Falls holds its annual Holiday Cookie Exchange, giving residents the chance to show off their favorite homemade or store-bought cookies, and try some new recipes from the neighbors.
Canyon Falls is a community that likes to give back throughout the year, and in November and December, items are being collected for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County.
And because the holidays are a time when we tend to indulge in extra cookies and sugary treats, Canyon Falls has added a new fitness class just in time. Ideal for toning the core and improving posture and flexibility, a Stability Ball Class is now part of the fitness activities at the Canyon Falls Club. Camp Gladiator, Stroller Strides and Zumba are also offered.
