4 ways Canyon Falls loves your dog (almost) as much as you do
A recent poll by Harris/Suntrust Mortgage found that Millennials are putting their dogs first in their decision to buy a new home. For these young adults born during the 1980s and 1990s, finding a new home with space inside and out for their four-legged friends ranked even higher than marriage and children.
Of course, these priorities may change as Millennials get older, but the trend is clear. And it’s not just Millennials. At Canyon Falls, we’re seeing a huge number of families who love their dogs and want to make them feel right at home. Here are four things we’re doing to make sure Canyon Falls always gets a “woof” of approval from dogs and their people.
Pooch Park. Our dog park has already become one of the most-enjoyed amenities at Canyon Falls. With its fenced play areas for small and large breeds, the Pooch Park gives dogs of all sizes plenty of room to run and make new friends. It also has a doggie water fountain and a dog washing station (sorry, Fido). With its restored grain silo, the Pooch Park shares a historic character with the neighboring Hay Barn, another popular Canyon Falls amenity.
Trails. With miles of trails, Canyon Falls is heaven for dogs, whether they’re running across our iconic Graham Branch Creek bridge or trotting through groves of trees. There are plenty of pocket parks to stop and smell along the ways.
Dog-friendly activities. Canyon Falls has a lifestyle director who plans an active calendar of events, and they’re not just for people. Dogs take center stage at regular events like Yappy Hour, and they’re welcome (on leashes) at many other events.
New homes for dogs. If you’ve ever kicked over your dog’s water bowl, you’ll appreciate the dog-friendly features many Canyon Falls builders are offering now. These include food and water bowl niches that are recessed into kitchen cabinetry, dog showers, and ample space for crates and food supplies. And your dog will love her new backyard at Canyon Falls.
